Yeins Gomez is a visual artist and tattoo artist based in Greenville, South Carolina, specializing in black and grey realism. His work is rooted in discipline, technical structure, and a deep respect for personal narratives translated into permanent form.

In 2015, shortly after graduating, Yeins was forced to leave Cuba for political reasons due to his opposition to the dictatorship that still governs the country. Relocating to the United States, he faced the challenge of rebuilding his life from the ground up. He worked in construction and restoration trades to support himself and his family, while continuing to create art whenever possible. Despite the physical demands of that period, he remained connected to the art world through exhibitions, collaborations, and commissioned work, preserving his identity as an artist during a time of transition.

Although Yeins received his first tattoo at the age of 15, it was not until many years later that tattooing became a conscious professional path. Encouraged by close friends and respected tattoo artists, he began studying the craft independently—practicing extensively on synthetic skin, learning through online education, and seeking constant feedback from experienced colleagues. This self-directed and disciplined approach laid the foundation for his transition into professional tattooing in 2022.

Tattooing allowed Yeins to merge technical precision with emotional depth while offering long-term stability. His sculptural background translates directly into his tattoo work, particularly in realism, where structure, contrast, and longevity are essential. He approaches each project as a collaboration, taking time to understand the client’s story and shaping it into a clear, intentional, and lasting piece.

Looking forward, Yeins aims to continue refining his craft through large-scale, concept-driven realism, focusing on work that carries meaning beyond aesthetics. His goal is not volume, but depth—to build a body of work defined by consistency, integrity, and respect for the medium. For Yeins, tattooing is not a trend or a product, but a lifelong practice rooted in responsibility, patience, and purpose.
